The best way for me to begin explaining 1800CHIRO is to describe how the company came into existence and then tie that together with my background and why I decided to become a chiropractor.

The summer before my last year at Western States Chiropractic College I started brainstorming on how I was going to establish a practice and get patients to walk through my door. Like all Chiropractic students, I eagerly awaited my chance to share my passion and knowledge with anyone willing to listen. The problem I foresaw wasn’t finding a way to help my patients but rather getting them to come see me so I could help change their lives.

I called my brother to gain his perspective on establishing my new practice. I will never forget our conversation. He said, “David, I know that dad always told us that the most powerful advertisement tool is ‘word of mouth advertisement’ and I agree that referrals are essential to long term success but the world is changing at an astonishing rate. People no longer go to the yellow pages to find a movie listing, a restaurant or even a doctor. If you are going to be successful in this ‘new world’, you need to adapt with the changing times. You need to establish a presence on the web”. It was this conversation that put the wheels in motion for 1800CHIRO.

My brother convinced me about the power of the internet and where the future of the web was heading. My next action shocked me; I went to Google and typed in word, “Chiropractic” and I was astonished at what I saw. There were numerous directories for Chiropractors being run by individuals with no ties to the Chiropractic community.

Shortly after my awakening, I decided to create 1800CHIRO,, with my brother and another family friend. I wanted to establish a venue where Chiropractors can educate the public about our profession while at the same time increasing their patient base. By becoming a Chiropractor, I have a vested interest in the information made available to the public about our profession. Through 1800CHIRO I have created a regulated directory and a site where Chiropractors will be afforded the opportunity to share information with each other.
